Clover, a small gray wolf worn down by berry-packing and exhaustion, watches her roommate Vesper, a long-haired cat, live under the care of a wealthy “fairy godmother.” Then Clover stumbles onto the truth: that elegant, couture-clad benefactor is actually her own mother, who pretended to be poor and even refused to pay Clover’s medical bills.
